1931 S/W Fordor Sedan Dome Light Wire Guard
Please help with where the metal Dome Light Wire Guard is positioned/mounted on a 1931 S/W Fordor?
Thank you. |

Re: 1931 S/W Fordor Sedan Dome Light Wire Guard
I am totally unaware of a Dome light Wire Guard. I do not have such an item on my 31 SW. The wires are hidden behind the wood were necessary.
Thanks, |

Re: 1931 S/W Fordor Sedan Dome Light Wire Guard
My wire is behind the wood and goes up to the roof, I find no need for the guard.
Which is a good thing, because I had no idea about that guard when I installed the dome wiring. Thank you for that new bit of info

Not the best picture but I hope it helps anyway. Look at the upper left portion of the picture from a Victoria.

I'll never understand electricity, but fear the fire it can start. I'll be running whatever size brake line to the light area and switch that will allow the wire/wires to fit through, just like commercial conduit in a building. Bob

Re: 1931 S/W Fordor Sedan Dome Light Wire Guard
No need for "conduit " .Our slant window has no major wood structure like other models. The wire(s) are run to the right side from the rear mounted light on deluxe models thru a hole in the roof support over to the right side door pillar switch and across the center of the car, thru the front two roof bows in holes (visor supports) over to the left 'A' door pillar and down. No guard used originally. The original wire was outside/combo fabric insulated and the switch pillar had a front wood cover face allowing a cavity for the wires to run behind it and used primarily for upholstery tacking and switch mounting on that side.
