Default 160-c

Hi guy`s I need some information. I`m getting close to finishing up on a 160-C. it has a flat firewall. at one time there was a body number plate on the firewall right under the data plate. I would like a picture of the body number plate on a flat firewall 160-C. thanks John

I saw an orig 160 B with a plate identical to this, not indented firewall.
Perhaps they were the same. It had 160B /space/ followed by the (4 digit) body number. It was mounted about 1/4" or so below the patent plate,to the right of the wiper fitting. This was from my notes.

I have a 160-B plate in the garage. I will get a pic for you tomorrow. Do you have an email I can send it to?

This Info was taken from Vince Falters site

160-C Deluxe Fordor Sedan (Slant Windshield, Two Window Blind Back, with cowl lamps)
(Flat & indented firewall) (Replaced 170-B Deluxe)

Briggs Body Tag number 139 or 153-

Murray Body Tag number 160C

Panel assemblies and/or bodies were built by Briggs & Murray & Ford

(Some early 160-C Briggs body tags were prefixed 139- during initial build (flat firewall) during concurrent production with 170-B Deluxe)

If it's Ford assembled it didn't get the tag. If it has cage nuts on firewall it was assembled by Murray and would have a tag. If it's D nuts then it was assembled by either Ford or Briggs.

J W, Gwen Machacek can make a body tag with the 160-B in black ink followed by the number you provide just like the original tag. Pm me if you want her phone number. The tags sold by the suppliers do not have the black prefix.
