I went through the entire engine, the crank was plastic gauged pulled four pistons checked all specks retourked all bearings checked valve lash et. I never thought to pull the cam cover , go figure the one area I never thought to check. The builder has passed away, he was a top shelf guy , i didn't mention his name for that reason.
