Default Scammer Alert !

Guy named Roy Miller...... I was in a conversation via email with : [email protected]. He say's that he is in Florida.
I was referred to this guy by jasoncleverly722 from the Ford Barn. Trying to buy a $35 cowl vent screen for a 34' Ford. He wont take a Money Order but states to open banking app on line. Frustrated me after 9 e-mails I told him to go pound sand and I would post his name as a scammer on HAMB and Ford Barn. Now I see he's been complained about many, many times on HAMB. Beware !!!

I have another one to add to the list,

Hal Schaffer WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/FORDFLATHEADCARBURETOR

He appears on Facebook and other places claiming to be a stromberg carb rebuilder
in Senoia GA. sent him a small logo 94 and later found that he has been kicked off many old car pages on Facebook for being a scammer. Never got my carb back

But he states, HE WONT DONATE OR SPONSOR carburetors to flathead groups. Posts look like a younger kid the way they are writen. But he buys all rare speed equipment ect. I see those ads all the time and most are dreamers looking for free stuff

Yeah, it’s been my life’s experience that those that profess their Christian values the loudest are the most un-Christ-like people.

Yeah, Really....maybe you can enlighten all of us here on your many skilled methods of detecting/determining scammers?

From the movie Fools Parade, "the lord uses the good ones and the bad ones use the lord" or something to that affect.

Gladly there are still mostly honest people in the old car buisness...
The scammers are damn clever and prey on anyone they can today...even old car guys...
If you shipped him the carb there must be an adress...sponsor you local bikerclub to have a little barbeque in his yard...hot dogs is optional...

Well, I thought it would be obvious, but if someone buying or selling starts to interject non-automotive topics into the negotiation (such as politics, law enforcement, or religion), it should cause one to immediately become suspicious.

Agreed. You see the symbols in their advertisements and think of the double edged swords they are waving around. The targeting of those certain groups shows contempt for them as marks.

I get suspicious when an add comes up on this site and you contact the person and ask for pictures rather than just a description and they won't provide you with any pictures of the items for sale. The sad part is I am truly interested in the item they have for sale.
