Re: width of a 1967 fairlane rearend?
The information that I have says that measured from surface where the wheel mounts to the same point on the other side is 59.25"-61.25". I don't know why the difference because the 8" and 9" used, were the same width. I think the 59.25" is what they are. I no longer own my 66, 390 car or I would measure to be sure. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

59.25" is correct, also there is one listed at 63.50" with coil springs <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

67's didn't have coil springs, I think that is supposed to be 77. I've owned (bought my 390 new) and worked on several, none had coils, those came in with the Grand Torino's and that series of cars. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

There are 4 different V8 rears for that year. What model and engine do you have? <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |

Re: width of a 1967 fairlane rearend?
The tag on the carrier will tell exactly what it is. There were two 9" in 67. One was the wagon and Ranchero and the other for FE engines in sedans and HT. Available in 28 and 31 spline, locking and non locking, and 2 or 4 pinion gears. The tag is the key to ID. Axle lengths were all the same and the external difference was slightly wider spring centers on the wagon/Ranchero. <table><tr><td><font face="arial"> |
