Default T.D.C. vrs Timing Mark

Hi Ford Barn People
My question is.
If the timing marks on the cam & crankshaft match. Is this the same as
top dead center on Number 1 piston?
Thanks for any information any one can give me.

Not necessarely, cuz the crank rotates 2X for every 1X the cam rotates. The best way to find TDC is to get both intake & exhaust valves closed, and the timing mark at 0*
