Default Cabriolet

Could someone please explain the difference between a Model A Sport coupe and a Cabriolet?

Top goes down on the Cabriolet. Not so for the Sport Coupe.

A bit more specific" The Sport Coupe has non folding top bows, regular painted door metal around the side windows and a sun visor. the Cabriolet has none of these.

The straight windshield cabriolet has a lot more wood in the body than the sport coupe .

OK. Cabriolet trivia. I’ll play. The Cabriolet bodies are numbered. Cabriolets have chrome plated door glass frames. Sport Coupes did not come standard with cowl lights.

Interesting but non-identifying fact: The official 2,000,000th Model A was a Cabriolet.

Next?

The sport coupe is a coupe body without the top.

The coupe and cabriolet are totally different bodies with no real interchangeable sheet metal (well some of the cowl).

The coupe is a metal structured body with some wood to attach top and interior.

The cabriolet is a wood built up structure (more of a hybrid, but that is for another day) and is fancier. The doors are flush not over lap and the proportions are different.

A more simple way to put it. The sport coupe has a lot of the cost of restoration of a cabriolet but the top does not go down. You get to put $900 worth of cloth on the top, but it does not let you see the sun.
