I purchased a stabilizer from a company called "T" Timers in San Luis Obisto, CA some time ago. Apparently they aren't around any more. Does anybody know where I can get one other than MACS?

If you put a steering stabilizer on your car you are only masking the problem. Get some help from a local club member and fix the problem the Model A way. I do not have any information for you on a stabilizer source. Bill

Try some simple things first. Believe it or not, people think the pitman arm is tight, but I find them to be loose more than you would think. Tighten it. Also, the springs in the tie-rod ends loose tension, and get gunked up from hard grease. Take em out, and replace them. Check your wheel bearing play. Other than that, king pins are the likely culprit.

I have owned two cars with them. They bent the tie rod on both cars. took them off and adjusted the tow in on one, on the other took it off and rebuilt the entire front end. Both drove fine and no deathwobble. It took some time to solve the wobble on my roadster, but it was all mechanical and fixable with no machining necessary.

When I bought my car it had a steering stabilizer. After owning the car for awhile I took it off to see what would happen. It drove OK, no ill handling. But I found I actually preferred the way it drove with the stabilizer on, less "jittery" feeling, so I reinstalled it.

Been on there about 8 years now, no bent tie rods, no death wobble.

If you want to go through Snyders but only need the stabilizer itself you have to call them. It's not listed online.

My car didn't feel quite right without a stabilizer before I rebuilt the steering box and front end. Ruth described it well as jittery. After the rebuild the stabilizer went in the spare parts bin. Feels stable up to 65 and that's good enough for me.

Maybe it's just me that feels less "jittery" with the stabilizer on, haha. I'll leave it on.
