The one on the left is a '55/'56 Merc Montclair wheel. The right one definitely has a truck horn button but I can't ID the year. I don't recall trucks having fancy wheels like that back then.

Check out these Illustrations from the original Sales brochures. The Steering Wheel on the 55 Mercury has 2 Spokes, the 56 has 3 Spokes, while the 57 Mercury has 4 Spokes. In light of this, your Steering wheels can be no earlier that 1957. However, living in Australia, there are very few Mercurys to check.
My 56 Mercury has 3 Spokes. I believe that your Steering Wheels would be 1957 or later, with the second one having a F100 Horn Button, as has already been suggested. Hope that this helps.

I would have said the one on the left is a 1957 Lincoln Premier wheel, and the one on the right was the rare optional wheel used on 1956 Mercury hardtop models, but the horn button is not right. I think that horn button on that one is for a Canadian Meteor.

I don't believe that the Steering Wheel in question is a 56 Lincoln? The above picture is a 56 Lincoln. True, it has 4 Spokes, but apart from that, it is completely different?

I own a 56 Mercury Monterey Hardtop, which has the stock 3 Spoke Steering Wheel. What did the Optional Steering Wheel look like?

Most of the '56 Merc's had the 3-spoke deep dish wheel with spokes at 120 degrees apart, similar to the 56 Ford whell except the Merc wheel had no plastic coating over the steel rod in the middle where the horn ring went. Merc just had the horn ring cover over the bare steel rod.
The optional wheel was used on Turnpike Cruisers and maybe some Montclair models. It was a 4-spoke wheel similar to the '56 Lincoln wheel.

I was mistaken. The wheel in the left photo is definitely for a 1957 Mercury Montclair or Turnpike Cruiser. Neither one is for a Lincoln. Still scratching my head about the one in the right hand photo
