Ok pickup specialists ,what is the difference in cabs between the 1/2ton pickup and the 1 1/2truck,will the 1 1/2ton cab fit the pickup chassi?

The cab will fit, the fenders are slightly different. There is no cutout at the front of the fenders for the bumper irons on the big truck.

The big truck has the gas tank under the seat while the pickup has the gas tank at the rear of the frame under the bed as well.

The fenders have a bigger radius than the pickup and the lower portion of the grill shell is narrower to accommodate the bigger fenders.

The cabs will interchange but you will have to come up with an underseat pan and a seat riser if you want to convert the 1 1/2 ton cab to a pickup cab. There are various front sheetmetal parts that do not interchange including the fenders, inner fender panels, and running boards. The steering columns do not interchange, either. Good luck with your project.

While the basic cabs are the same, the mounting wood between the cab and the frame is different and the holes in the cab and frame are different, especially at the rear corners. I believe the grills are the same as two different parts numbers or prefixes are not given to distinguish one grill from another.

Agree on the grille, I have two '36 grills here, one from my pickup, the other from a big truck I pulled a few years back,,,no difference that I can see.

Take a close look at the first grille pics of the '35 and '36 PU's, you'll see the same difference at the bottom.

I wish he would have used '36 PU and '36 large truck in the latter pics, but he used '35 PU.

Lower portion of 35 and 36 PU grills are contoured the same except the 36 grill has 4 holes in the very bottom front for the under the grill panel to be bolted to the grill. 35 does not have these holes. Also the opening for the manual crank to slip through can be different sizes, some have 3 3/8" crank hole where some have 2 1/8" crank hole. This difference can be found on both the 35 and 35 grills.
