Do you have any pictures, it would be easier to tell with pictures. How apart is it? are
you talking mechanical assembly or body pieces and upholstery. Wheels and tires together
or apart. See pictures would tell more.

We drove a 1927 Model T to a restaurant one morning arriving at 08:00. Four of us took all the fenders off, took off the wheels, removed the body and the engine.

Then we had lunch.

After lunch a glazier had removed a big picture window. We carried the car inside and reassembled it. We were done by 4:00 PM.

Note that we did not restore anything. Four competent Model T guys for 8 hours = 32 man hours. We had no power tools of any kind.

5 years later the restaurant went belly up. We repeated the performance in the same amount of time and drove the T home.

I thought they go together pretty quick. a family member has one and plan on putting together on the next visit.

If you go by the 'time study' figures in the 'Ford Model T Manual' (Blue Book), assembly should take no more than 34 minutes.

Do they still have the assembly contests at the Nationals? Last time I saw the race I thought it was down around 4 minutes.

Clubs put on assembly demonstrations that take between five and ten minutes. But those are cars in which all the components are restored or repaired and ready to run. In the real world, where you need to fix things, everything takes longer than you think it will. In most cases you're looking at not hours, but days, weeks, months, or even years, depending on what needs to be done.

Henry Ford said "it's all nuts and bolts", Hows yours? in a bucket rusty and stripped or in baggies all clean and labeled as to where they go. Got the applicable parts book to look the description of the missing ones ? Just this could take a long time.

It will not go quick if the bolts and nuts are not attached carefully to each part. The example I gave was for a complete car, that was disassembled carefully, then reassembled the same way. The typical basket case has been taken apart haphazardly and half the parts lost. It's not going to be quick or easy to assemble.

I think these guys are quoting times for the second rodeo. For the first time (even competent and with "other" car experience) multiply by 10. Then add time for each missing piece that has to be chased down.

Well this will be motor build and rering then attach trans put the frame together and fashion a driver seat(I dont think there is much of the body left if any). I have about 40 hours per visit I can put in to it. 2 visits a year.
