Default An Amazing Mid-Thirties Standard Oil Red Crown Gasoline Station Photo

An Amazing Standard Oil Red Crown Gasoline Station: This remarkable facility was located on the original Route 66 on Clayton Road at the junction of South Skinker Boulevard in St. Louis, Missouri. The amazing neon-lit globe above the station has to rank at the top of its form for the time period. At least half a dozen of the trademark Red Crown pumps can be seen at three different islands. See this photo in four enlargements and learn much more about it on The Old Motor.

That's cool, look at the car on the right, it looks opaque, like a ghost image... I wonder if that was intentional.

Hopefully not the first "pump-and-run" bandit.

That is a cool example of the free market economy. If it was a museum, I would want to go.

Vic:I wonder if that was time lap photo or if it took a few shots to make one large photo, look on left and you see what looks like head lites (Band /stripe )or what would show if it were time lap.& car driving through.

Most likely not intentional. Considering the time period with very slow film and long shutter speed it just came out that way. Car starts to move as shutter is open, split second later shutter is closed and car disappears.
