Default Took my 30 coupe out for a spin

To alleviate some cabin fever, I took a quick ride to give her a little exercise.

Grabbed a camera and took a bit of video. Nothing special, just the sights and sounds of a Model A, and the familiar view down the hood.

Even though I have driven thousands of miles over there, it still looks weird being on that side of the road.
I'd love to be able to go for a drive but unless we are out of the house for one of only 4 reasons, we are liable for a $1,600+ fine. Taking the car for a run is not one of those reasons.

My wife and I took ours out for a 20-minute ride through our neighborhood -around 6:30 PM - never got above 35, but thAt’s probably OK...this has been our isolation therapy for the past 3 weeks... nothing better than the sound or feel of driving a Model A !

I'd love to take my A out for a run, but there's still too much snow around and too much salt on the roads.

I have to ask, what are the 4 acceptable reasons, you can go out of the house?

Recently the Governor announced the closing of most businesses which included the liquor stores effective the next day.

In short order lines formed at the liquor stores and the government phones and email went crazy.

Things REALLY got out of hand when it was discovered that the closing also included all the Marijuana shops in the state!

Looks like state revenues from Pot and booze stores are now essential when they realized that this was the state's only source of taxes!!

Priorities ... don't cha know ?

The "Problem" is that in order to kill virus it has to be over 70% alcohol!

Personally this does not affect me as I have not used booze or inhaled any Pot smoke since I left Vietnam over 50 years ago.

All you had to do at AnKhe was take a deep breath inside the nearest tent ... no need to buy "Cambodian Gold" as it was called.
That sign makes you a local boy. Rocky Mountain High! I left Pleiku 51 years ago. Sandbag full $5.

  1. One person only at a time from a household is allowed to go shopping for food
  2. Travelling to or from your essential job
  3. Exercise
  4. To receive or give medical care.

The Government is now talking of tightening restrictions even further. What that will mean is anybody's guess and we are being told that these restrictions will last at least 6 months but get ready for 12 months. Anybody who is supposed to be in self isolation can expect a knock on the dorr from the Police at ANY time. It they are not at home, they get a BIG fine.
It is quite obvious to me that by the time we come out of this, the world will be in a full blown depression at least as bad as 1930. I suspect the reason your President is downplaying the situation is that his chances of re election grow smaller the more the economy suffers (He won't be able to Keep America Great!). He is running a huge risk. He has laid the ground work for the whole USA to be like New York, Italy or Spain.
If I were living in your country, I'd take heed of what the leaders of other countries have had to do because whether he likes it or not, your President will have to at some stage do similar or sentence millions of your fellow Americans to death. If that happens, history will not treat him well!
This is NOT a political statement - it is the scary reality in the world today. I further think that Forums like this provide an opportunity for some of us to stay in touch with others and maybe stay sane.

X3 - should have done it at least three months ago.

Well, you could drive your Model A for one of the acceptable reasons. Our state has closed down non-essential businesses - problem is, what's deemed "essential" is a long list.

I take it "exercise" means walking, jogging, etc? Presumably gyms are closed?
