Default Best Model T Books

I just bought my first Model T. It is a project, but not an overwhelming one, hopefully. What books should I buy to help me gain an understanding and to help me get started?

Owners manual that covers your year. Model T Ford Service. The dealers will carry them. The Ford Service book will cover just about any service question you may have.

There is also a series of manuals called "Tinkering Tips" that are quite handy.
The Model T club also puts out individual manuals for different components of the car
that are helpful if you've never worked on a T before.

^Very true, but nothing like having a real book in hand that I can look at most anyplace! That is a cool site, been there before.

If you are starting a restoration project, then I would suggest some of the manuals and publications published by the MTFCA for your vehicle. I have used many of these and they are packed with valuable info. The "Model T Ford, The Car That Changed The World" by Bruce McCalley is excellent. It is a Model T bible that covers all years. If the book can't be found, I believe it is also in pdf format. Best of luck with your project.

Redmodelt mentioned the Service Manual. This is a reprint of a Ford publication from back in the day that was used by the service departments at the dealerships. IMO, it's the first book you should buy. Lang's has it:

It has just been a few years since I bought my first model T and the books mentioned will get you started. These two books will give you a very good "understanding".

The two books that I read the most are the pictured Model T Ford owner, Murray Fahnestock "The dean of vintage Ford experts" and the "Holy Grail" of Model T books that covers the whole assembly and build of that era, Ford Methods and the Ford Shops, Horace Arnold/Fay Faurote.

Ford Methods/Shops is a compilation from the engineering magazine company started by Arnold and unfinished in January 1915 and the finished work taken up and completed by Faurote to be published in 1919.

Thanks, everyone. Good suggestions. I placed an order with Lang's.
