oil pan janitor question
Does anyone by chance happen to know if the oil pan janitor as sold by various A parts houses will work if you have a v8 transmission with the adaptor flywheel housing on a model A ? Thanks

Re: oil pan janitor question
Hi Harry,
After witnessing over 12 hours with no responses to your question, I decided to break the ice and offer just one (1) possible way to obtain a correct answer to your question; e.g., it can never hurt to call the parts houses that offer these oil pan janitors, and while asking, give details and dimensions of what you actually have. Usually after breaking the ice with one (1) simple response, appears a few people get ferocious ants in their pants which encourages their brains to shift into gear where, they immediately begin to offer very wonderful and helpful suggestions. |

Re: oil pan janitor question
The one that I have from years ago is a lot longer then the picture of the Snyder unit. I would have to dig it out to measure it.

Re: oil pan janitor question
When I had an engine that leaked out the rear main, I did use a janitor. I lined it with oil absorbent pads, cut to fit, to eliminate the mess that JBill mentioned. Just changed the pads, left the janitor in place.
Retired the janitor when I got my new engine.

Re: oil pan janitor question
The oil pan janitor mounts under the flywheel housing using the two bottom bell housing to flywheel housing bolt heads. I believe the adapter you are referring to is the bell housing. You use the standard flywheel housing that bolts to the back of the engine.

Re: oil pan janitor question
had one on an AA housing with F150 tranny before rebuild. was easy to install and empty by using a diaper that absorbs oil placed in the bottom like Carl stated.

Re: oil pan janitor question
I have used the oil pan janitor , put a absorbant pad in the bottom and I thought it was very easy to install and remove. There are no bolts to loosen. The janitor just slips over the bolt heads and seems to be spring loaded for easy removal.

Re: oil pan janitor question
Why not fit a draft tube to the janitor? It would empty while driving...
