Please tell me more.

If you go with the linseed oil I would urge you to use it mixed 50/50 with turpentine. Something to consider is what I have used on my trucks finish that is mostly surface rust is Johnson's Paste Wax. Works quite well and easy to work with.

A warning on the linseed oil. Be sure to lay your rags out flat to dry or they will spontaneously combust and possibly burn your house down.

Mineral spirits work for mixing with the boiled linseed oil too. Same caution about letting the rags dry flat on the ground outside. You can change the shine by changing the ratio a little; more thinner (spirits) equals more shine
