Default Transmission issue

Hey guys

I am overhauling a 28-29 model A transmission. Only problem that I have is that I can't get the bearing of the mainshaft..
I already put 4tons of pressure on it but it won't budge.

Maybe you can not see it in the picture put the part where the bearing slides over is connical??
Being smaller diameter towards the bearing.

Grtz

The piece with a spiral groove in it is a spacer. There should have been a clip in the groove that this spacer is now covering. From your picture it looks like the bearing and this spacer have moved about 1/8". Is this correct? If so, then you probably have reached a resistance point(Possibly a burr). Look on the gear side of the bearing to see if there is a gap there.

Just saw the error in my ways haha. Like you said Jerry, I did not see the clip.
This what happens when you are in a hurry when the wife wants you at home haha

Is this the original clip that comes in place of the clip and spacer that I have on my main shaft?

Yes it is, but don't forget that you need the oil baffle as well on the gear side of the bearing to keep the overall spacing correct.
