Default Axle sleeves for grooved axles.

I have had sleeves custom made to fit over the Model A axle. This will fix the groove left by the seal wearing into the axle.
They are hard chromed to prevent wear.
The CR 9116 is too small for the Model A application.

How much did the machine shop charge for that job as opposed to buying a new axle ?

What is a CR9116 ?

FWIW

One of our club members informed me when I was rebuilding my differential that I should install a washer inside in the axle housing before you install the rear axle seal. The washer would have to have the correct thickness, OD and ID and would move the seal inboard and ride on the axle in a unworn area.

What it cost me is not a concern, what it will cost you is $35 each FOB my place. This is an easy fix if you have a leaking rear end and will be permanent.

When you move the seal to a new location by shifting it back an eighth of an inch is not a permanent fix. Filling up the groove with epoxy and sleaving it is.

The CR9116 Are a stock Speedy Sleeve but is too small for the Model A Axle. It creates a new seal surface. No change in seal size is required.
