Default Skirts for a 36 ford

I found a set of 36 ford fender skirts.

I think the price will be high as the owner paid a lot for them.

He has a bunch of stuff I would like to buy so I might have to buy everything to get what I want.

What is the value of 36 skirts ( original I assume) and what is the demand?
Thanks

They are not easy to come by. Its whatever the buyer and seller agree to I guess. Its just how bad you want them. That the way I look at it. If they are nice get them.

i think demand seems to be there as the ones on ebay always sell. I would think they would sell for anything between $100 - $400 for a set depending on condition. I have seen them selling higher but most of them sell in that price range.

Original style fender skirts are hard to find and if you can get a good set at $400, you would be doing well. Reproductions can fit, but usually are not made like these shown.

As I recall, the skirts fit 1936 - 1940 cars.

Did they have the bolt head on the outside like the one in the picture?

I didn't realize that.
I thought they might be one year only.

Those are the repros. My dad got a set of those for our Phaeton. I usually leave them off because my preference is to see the rear wheel arches.

The ones in the earlier photo are, or are much more similar, to the real deal.

If you buy repo skirts do not buy the fiberglass ones. I made that mistake.

I have a pair of the repo fiberglass skirts which came with the car when I purchased it in 1998. I also like the appearance without the skirts. Marv - what problems did you have with fiberglass skirts?
Thanks

I have skirts for my '37. I put them on every other season/ It completely changes the look of the car - it's like getting a different car every year !

I couldn't find anything in Australia so I made these for my 35. Nice gentle curve on the English wheel. I like the look of skirts. Good luck with your 36.
