VIN location on frame (1955 Ford)
I am a newby to this forum. I just acquired a '55 Crown Victoria. It has been sitting unregistered for 20 years. I want to make sure I have all the info I need when I go to get a new title. Can someone tell me where on the frame the VIN is located? Thanks Howard.

Re: VIN location on frame (1955 Ford)
You can't see it unless you remove the front passenger side bumper brackets. The VIN number is stamped into the frame rail. I believe it is also on top near the same location (stamped into the top leg of the channel), but it is covered up by the fender apron rubber seal.
There should be an aluminum identification plate just below the "A" pillar when you open the driver side door. |

Re: VIN location on frame (1955 Ford)
My '55 Ford wagon is stamped on top of the passenger's side frame rail approximately directly below the battery. The body is off the frame, so not sure what would have to be removed to see it. I have also heard they are stamped on one of the rear crossmembers.
