Default Install Windshield 1961 Starliner

I will be putting my Starliner back together this summer. The car is down to the sheet metal. Should I install the dash before the windshield? I can do either way. Best choice? My thinking is easier without the dash. Opinions?
Thanks

Be very careful installing the Windshield in your Starliner, as the only models that these Windshields fit are the 1960 Edsel Hardtop and the two years of the Starliner, 1960 and 1961. They do not interchange with any other models, just these three. Take care.

Put the windshield in first, before the dash. Then you can check to see if it leaks before the dash and everything else is installed, and gets soaked in your first rainstorm. I assume you have the car painted before you are planning to install the glass?
And good luck finding an installer who knows how to do a rubber set windshield.

Get the headliner installed before the glass. Much easier to pull/stretch and fasten with no glass. Some of the early (50s and 60s) hard the rear portion of the headliner wrap on the pinch weld to hold it taunt.

Great advice ! The Ford Shop manuals will tell you that when installing a bow type headliner to R&R the rear glass so be sure to have both new seals on hand.

And don't wait for a rainstorm to see if it leaks. Use a garden hose.
