Default Flathead Friday. It ain't always exciting.

Latest video offering. Just cleaning up the block prior to setting it up for boring. It scrubs up quite well considering how crusty it was when first bought. I also take out the drain plugs out. Can't make it sound exciting, but that's the point. Not everything you do is exciting, you just have to dig deep and get through it. I do show a glimpse of something more exciting at the end, if you can make it that far, and I notice a couple of interesting things along the way. Whether those things will come back and bite me is yet to be seen.

Thanks for watching.

Looking better all the time Mart. I see you have cold weather there now too.

Yeah, Ralph, it's getting better all the time. It's just miserable and wet here, not proper cold like around your way. I don't feel the cold, just wrap up warm. My mate used to say: No such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing.

Mart.
That is true about inadequate clothing, up to a point. But at -25F its getting so it takes me longer to put on all the layers than it does to do the few outdoor chores I have. And working in the shop is not too appealing when indoor temp without the heater turned on is near 0F degrees.
I have to say that the block you are working on looks a little rougher than the seized up 53 engine I've had hanging on the stand for the past two years now. Maybe there is hope for this one but I'm expecting to find some serious pitting if I ever get those pistons out.

Good stuff, Mart! Love the shade-tree style...

Thanks F500. The next video is in editing and should be posted on Friday.
