Thanks to all who responded to previous post. I spent the better part of yesterday (of couse hottest, most humid day of the year) installing carpet in my 31 tudor. Picked up a 5x7' prebound rug at h. depot and some scrap padding, total investment $25. It (brown w some gold) contrasts nicely with the brown ck on bottom of doors and rear panels already installed (didn't have $350 for original). Hardest part was making patterns so I could cut once. Had enough to do front and rear and then for area floormats. So far I've decided no to fasten it down. It tucks in nice under the rear panels ( discovered last night, after all done that original didn't go side to side) and lays flat by the seats. If I do say so myself it came out pretty good and makes a big difference from just the wood boards. Sweat gallons yesterday but it was worth it. Thanks for listening.
