Default universal joint

It says in the lube chart to grease the universal joint behind the transmission every 500 miles. I thought this was enclosed and sealed. Can any one help me out here?

Yep, the u-joint spins in grease.. There should be a grease fitting on the lower right side of the u-joint cover just in front of the speedo drive.. I make a sloppy goop consisting of grease and heavy oil that seems to works well.. Oh, don't overfill the cavity cuz it'll end up inside the transmission.. Remove the speedo drive and fill until you see it start to just come out..
