Default What is the sheet metal piece under the grille and between the front fenders called?

As the title states, what is that sheet metal piece under the grille and between the front fenders called? I've always called it the valance, but what is the correct term?

When looking from the top, it's shaped like a hard bend "C" and the ends are tapered to a point in the middle.

Thanks all!

The valance is the piece in the rear of the car , sometimes called an apron, below the body that reaches from one side to the other. Value- about $100- 125 in used, unfinished , needs some work, condition Found on 4 drs and Town Sedans and maybe other models too. A scarce part with several variations.

Pooch - if it only fits over the box spring of a bed, not the real mattress, it's called a 'bed skirt'. My wife loves them, I hate them.

Chuck was just curious.

Over here we call your (side) splash apron a valance.

And I would call your front splash apron just a front apron.

Your bed skirts are a valance to us as well.

Pooch - another use for 'valance' in the States is an upholstered cover that fits over the top of a set of drapes. Again, hard to believe, but Wife loves them, I hate them. More of a Cob Web snare in this use....

Also know as a Stone deflector. I'll check in the Model A parts book and see if it's listed and what it's called.

The correct nomenclature is a Front Splash Shield Assembly, part number A-15527-AR and A-15527-B.

Thanks all. Any differences in one off of an April AR roadster? Any ball park ideas of what would be an approximate value of one with no issues and original paint and those two felt pieces still attached?
