Default Way to distinguish 1929 to 30 cowl

I have what I believe to be a 1929 cowl but when I look at some photo's it looks like a 30. Is there a part number on the cowls or cane someone out there tell me how to make sure which is which. Thanks Tom

Tom is it a cowl for a fordor? It looks very similar to a 30/31. But has a screw on gas cap.
Plus the gas tank is removed from inside the cowl. Jeff

Twenty eight and nine cowls have a threaded gas cap . Early untill around june 30 trucks and wagons have a tabbed gas cap but still resemble the 29 cowls. To some the 29 fordor , convertable cabriolet , town sedan and town car cowls resemble the 1930 cowls but have a threaded gas cap .

Those '28-29 "Fordor" cowls are composed of three firewall sections bolted together on top of each other, not the normal two seen in most '28-29 cowls. The '30-31 firewalls are one piece stampings.
