Re plating Carburetor
Does anyone know a decent place to have a carburetor Cadmium re-plated.
It is worth doing such a thing, or too expensive?? |

Believe that carbs. are as cast finish with perhaps an added acid etch.

Re: Re plating Carburetor
you can always do it yourself! zinc chromate solution, item has to be CLEAN, adjust the color by the time the part is in the solution, rinse in a WEAK chromate solution. the fuel pump is slightly darker in color [flash washed out some of the color]. it`s not hard.

not a kit, go to a plating/polishing supply house. they will have everything you need, including advise. i would stay away from Eastwood.

Any difference in surface will get you an uneven finish. Caustic cleaning and acid flash to activate the surface. |

Re: Re plating Carburetor
Sounds expensive for a one time deal...maybe I should have it done out...or just wire brush it and install it.
