Re: Tell us what your working on !
I'm working on my 50 F-1 pickup. I've had it 20 years now and I finally turned the page and it's starting to go forward and be reassembled. I recently posted about my stuck valve saga. I'll bneputting the head back on later this week and will fire it back up! I will post again on my thread on how it came out.

Re: Tell us what your working on !
Restoring a 50 ford 4 door, with flathead and OD tranny. Also working on a 51 ford 2 door, maybe putting a 55 y block and OD tranny in it. Not sure yet. Going to look at a 52 F2 pickup with original flatty and trans tomorrow. All this to help pay for a 30 coupe that's waiting for me to bring home and finish up.( with a nice merc flathead to build, that I have at the shop )

Re: Tell us what your working on !
I pulled the gas tank on my '42 coupe last night due to fuel delivery issues, so I guess I have two projects on the go now!

Re: Tell us what your working on !
I'm building a 28 A Tudor from bits gathered from far and beyond.
Boxed, lengthened and stepped A frame, C59A engine, currently stock, a sweet runner, with 36 trans, 47 rear with A spring, shortened torque tube & driveshaft. 4" dropped axle with split 34 bones and reversed eye spring, 39 brakes, 47 drums, lever shocks. Body came to me with a very bad 4" chop and most of the subframe missing, most of the roof missing, and LOTS of rust. I've spent about 9 months on bodywork, and still got a fair bit to go. Wheels are 35 16" wires with 5.25s and 7.50s. |

Re: Tell us what your working on !
I just finished overhauling the radiator on my 36 tudor. Top tank was all beat up, so had to straighten it. Also, rodded the core and soldered a couple of leaks.

Re: Tell us what your working on !
I have a 38 panel, it is 99% complete, nothing is ever truly finished until its sold and gone, waiting for Illinois DMV to title, on my 4 th month of waiting. May rub the paint clean off polishing it. Took it to the drag strip, ran an 11.40, they promptly told me no more for you till you get a cage and fire suit, ran it around the block, did a big smoking burnout, 5 minutes later the police came and wanted to impound it, thankfully the 2nd lieutenant is a customer and a great guy but told me not to pull it out of the shop again. Is this what stir crazy is? Having all that, and not being able to drive it?

Re: Tell us what your working on !
Restoring a '37 slantback. I bought it in 1974, drove it about 10k miles and started restoration at 44k+ miles about 5 years ago. It set in my barn for many years. It is running again and have been doing minor body work, sanding, priming, etc. I did install '39 hydraulics and a '39 heater. The engine is a '39 24 stud. I am the second owner, very lucky to have a rust free car to work on. The original owner told me that a lady banged into the rear end on icy roads back in 1941. They locked bumpers and it pushed the tail light down bending the rear fenders. I think I have everything I need to finish the car except for time! 'Gotta keep wrenching.

Re: Tell us what your working on !
'30 Pickup, boxed frame, rear spring behind axle, banjo with open drive shaft, t5, not chopped, full fendered, '32 style shell and hood, 8ba, not 100% completed but got it in epoxy primer for the summer so I can drive it and get the bugs worked out before taking it apart for paint. Have drove it about 65 miles thus far, here is a couple of pictures of the engine.

Re: Tell us what your working on !
I recently finished stripping down a '49 F6, pushed the '62 Fairlane out of the garage, and pushed the '87 Tbird in. But this week, I plan on getting my frame rotisserie built for my F1 frame. I just wish I was as far along as some of you guys, lol.

Re: Tell us what your working on !
I'm about to try starting the '46 Merc flatty in my '39 Tudor. It's been sitting since 1982, but spins over, and I've already completely rebuilt the brakes, including adapting a dual m/c to the stock pedal assembly. Next up, if I can get it running smooth, is a new wiring harness, and I will drive the wheels off this thing just the way it looks (besides putting some proper bias-ply bigs and littles on, of course). |
