No first hand experience but but the 1950-65 Ford products interchange manual lists a different number for 215 vs. 223.

I think the 223 heads were used by a few folks on 215s back in the day but I think you have to use the manifold set ups for the 223. They are likely a bit different. The distributors are in different places but I don't think that affects the heads.

There is a Ford Six Performance forum out there that may have better answers to your question.

The part vendors show the same gasket set for 215 & 223. I do know that a 223 intake/exhaust gasket will not seal the intake on a 215.
