Default 1931 Tudor Info

Good Afternoon All

As I stated previously I am considering purchasing a 1931 Tudor and need some info/advice. The car is Canadian built. Here goes

1. The car that I am considering has the gas shutoff inside the car like my 30 Coupe. I believe that this was still the case for 1931 cars up to about April 1931. Is this correct?

2. This car also has the steering wheel support on the gas tank, not the dash rail. Was this also correct for early 1931 Tudors?

3. I am a big boy - 5'8" but heavy. I am told that the seats in a Tudor might be uncomfortable for me. Any opinions??

Thanks. All input will be appreciated.

Dick

1- Yes.

2- Yes.

3- The seats are VERY comfortable. My April '31 Tudor has had the seats recovered, but the frames and springs are all original. I can drive it for hours and feel fine. That says a lot since I have arthritis of the spine and am not comfortable in our modern cars.

Besides, the Tudors are much easier to enter and exit than the other body styles. I'm a thin guy, but don't move well. The Tudor is the only Model A body style that I can enter and exit easily without pain and undue positioning and movements.

Yes
Yes
How heavy is heavy??
I'm 5'10" and about 230(+ -), seats are comfortable in my tudor, driver's seat moved back 6-8" and raised about 3". I'm happy.
IF you purchase it, change the support to the dash rail. JMO
