crack in body, 36 coupe
After two years of work, lots of rust and other issues my body guy is in the final sanding stage and noticed this crack tonight. He is wondering if that is where the body was welded at the factory and if so it will just crack again. Any suggestions for him? Thanks!

I don't believe that is where the body is welded. The quarters are each joined to the roof and the panel above the deck lid and seams are leaded, but this would be below the area you are showing. This area I have seen cracked mostly on 32 Fords is from the body being stressed. The metal is thin there and is the weakest link so to speak. The 32s had a dealer update to reinforce this area. I would put a butterfly shaped patch in the inside to strengthen the area, probably 4 inches minimum in length.

a stress piont, you can weld it at the crack, but will crack again, need to put a larger patch on the inside to brace the weak area
