Default 1940 hot water heater switch

Does anyone have an Ohm value for the small resistors on the '40 hot water heater switch? I'm trying to rebuild the switch for my Fordor and the resistors are toast... Hoping that if I get it apart, clean the contacts and replace the resistors it'll work again.

Thanks in advance.

Hal,
My switch has the same problem. It just works on high which I assume means without resistance. I hope an answer can help both of us. Hunt

The one on my '51 runs the same speed no matter what position it's in. I was gonna tear into it today, but now I think I'll wait a day or two. It's cold but dry up here now, so with a good heater, I can still drive my car daily.

The readings are a little sporadic but I measure about 1 ohm. Now I have had to take apart and clean up all the contacts including soldering some of the rivet contacts to get a good connection before the switches would work after all these years.

Thanks Juergen, I know what you mean about the readings being sporadic... the readings I get off of what remains of the resistors on mine jump from 1 to 24 ohms. Still looking for answers...

One last BTTT for the Sunday crowd... has anyone ever measured the resistance on these? Or have a good one they can check?
