Stick On Windshield Antenna For A 40
Has anyone tried one of those new windshield stick on antennas for a stock 40 radio? I got the stock radio installed but I really don't want to drill the 7/8" hole in the roof. Its claimed they get AM and FM.

As long as it isn't grounded and is connected to the inside of the special nut--it should work. A piece of coathanger would work if not grounded.

I got the AM radio in my '51 Ford all fixed up. Got installed and it worked great, if you like crop reports or listening to Spanish language programs. Up here, at least, there is absolutely nothing worth listening to on AM radio.

Down here, we get gospel music in addition to the Spanish content. Some mornings, you just want to fly away.

Think I will just run my I pod with a USB cable through the stock radio (converted) and forget drilling that 7/8" hole in the roof.

Re: Stick On Windshield Antenna For A 40
I'm using an interior stick on antenna, but my car is rewired for 12 volts and the antenna requires a 12V. feed. If you car is rewired for 12V. then I would recommend it, mine works great. I don't know if it would work on a 6 volt system. The only reason that I even have an antenna is to listen to the Yankee games when I'm in the car at game time.
