Update 1937 Transmission with 1939 Gear Set Question
Hi All,
I have a question about updating a 1937 transmission to 1939 gears. Do all the gears need to be changed out? Or just the main gear with the synchro along with the shifter tower? Thanks, Denny |

Re: Update 1937 Transmission with 1939 Gear Set Question
If you have a '37 trans with a 28T cluster with all helical cut teeth, a helical reverse idler and a 29T low/reverse slider gear on a 16 spline main shaft you can reuse those parts. Use the later 16T input shaft, the later mainshaft, later synchro unit and the 22T 2nd gear with a pressed in bushing to do the conversion. You will also need a shift top with the 3" fork.

Re: Update 1937 Transmission with 1939 Gear Set Question
I did this conversion on my 37 about a month ago. I called Mac VanPelt for his advice and parts needed. Best customer service I've ever received.
