Default Step Pad for 31 Cabriolet

I am going through some boxes of stuff looking for things to get ready for paint. I have a rumble seat step pad with integral mounting bracket. It is an original Model A part stamped with part number A-70480. However, this number does not show up in part supplier catalogs. Can anyone verify that this is a correct part for the 31 Cabriolet.

Also, the pad was cast with the mounting bracket. What is the correct finish for the pad? Thanks for your help, Ed

The rear bumper square step plate with integral cast bracket was used from April 1929 to October 1929. The correct 31 step plate for your Cabriolet is a round cast aluminum with a carriage bolt in the middle. It was used on the fender and the rear bumper bracket, with a mounting bracket.
You should buy a copy of the Restoration Guidelines. It has all of the details and changes.
