Default Floorboard seal installation

Crunched the front end of my modern daily driver a week ago, when the giant SUV in front of me leapt out of the lane we were in (with no brake lights or turn signal, of course) leaving me going 40-45 MPH with maybe three car lengths behind a line of stopped cars. Even with ABS, I couldn't get it stopped in time.

So the 1930 Tudor is my daily driver for a couple of weeks.

Somewhere I know I have seen a diagram, just a line drawing, showing where to install the fabric floorboard seal on the front floorboards, perhaps in one of the vendor catalogs, but I'll be darned if I can find it again. Searching the net hasn't found anything.

Anyone remember this and where it can be found?

Minor deal, I know, but I want to get my floorboard installed properly once I don't have to run to the store in in every few days. They're not bolted down right now and keep shifting a bit and fouling the accelerator pedal rod.

Gregory, I just took the welting and made one edge flush with the top side of the boards, wrapped it around the side and overlapped the bottom board. Secure with small tacks, or i suppose you could use staples if not concerned about judging.

Brian,

That's basically what I remember seeing.

Does the seal go all the way around the board? I know I could meaasure the length of the seal and answer this question for myself... I do have one of the floorboard seal kits from a vendor with the tacks.

Looking a my old floorboards the fabric goes on the edge and the bottom. This keeps the boards insulated from the metal sub rails and each other. It may have been more of a antisqueak.

On my original early 29 dovetailed floorboards, the welt is one piece and folded over on itself at the corners on the bottom side, rather than miter cut. This would make it 3 layers thick at the corners, which doesn't seem like a good idea, but that is the original way.
