In this picture it looks more like the "D" area......the wedge doesn't move much when the brakes are applied.....

The V shape of the wedge makes contact at point A and increases to widen the rollers outward to increase the pressure of the shoes against the hub as the roller travels to point D.

I'm not sure (without pulling the front brakes apart) which part of the wedge contacts the rollers, but I do know that replacing a well worn original wedge with new wedges made a big difference to our brakes

That wedge is not made the same as original, I would consider it a "GYP" part---the original has 1 angle a-b, then another c-d ---I will try to get pictures of NOS later today, a-s to take up clearance ,then c-d to apply, original wear at the transition point b-c

Yes, I was going to make the same comment earlier. When you compare it and the repro roller to the original prints, they are not manufactured correctly, so IMHO what you are asking has no real relevance.

Unfortunately, if someone replaced an original wedge with that reproduction wedge and their braking improved, the only thing I can think of is the original one must have really been worn!

This picture is worth a thousand words, its D, below that position is where the wedge is held when it is machined.
