Default 1939 Ford Deluxe Sedan Wiper Part

I need help with the name of a part for my 1939 Ford Deluxe Sedan. The part is located on the interior of the car, on the outside of the headliner. It is the round plastic part that covers the hole from the stem of the windshield wiper’s on and off knob. I lost this part when taking out the headliner, I plan on putting in the new headliner within the next month or so and am in need of the part before then. Does anyone have one for sale or know where I can find one?

Any help is appreciated !

Thanks!

Jim, It isn't plastic - it's metal. I'm not certain where you can get one but would think you could install a grommet that would replicate the missing (authentic) one easy enough. It was originally S15, Oxidized finish. That appears akin to a modern day "antique brass" you might find on a set of door knobs.

I believe LeBaron Bonney has the part, but it may be in bright finish.

Terry, You may be correct (you usually are)... I'd looked through their catalog yesterday but perhaps overlooked it.
They had something similar but the opening was elongated.

You can find various sizes of brass grommets at your local Ace Hardware.

These are not a simple "grommet" but rather a grommet with small "prongs" that fit in to a hole in the header.

Thanks for your reply! I really appreciate it, i was wondering if you happen to have a photo of the grommet you are describing? I know what a grommet is but you have me a little confused with the small prongs.

Thanks!

Jim, The best I can do is give you an idea of what it looks like. All the ones I have had, I'd installed of course.
Hopefully you can open the attachment. The eyelet is at the very bottom of the page. I've blanked out the rest of that page so as to avoid any possible confusion.
If not, let me know and I'll go to "plan B".

You might try JoAnn Fabrics or some other sewing supply store.

the part is similar to an electrical box knockout plug which come in different sizes. if you were lucky to find the right size the hard part would be making the hole in center for the wiper switch. i would not try drilling but a small punch to make hole.

You could also try Kent at Clean Sweep wipers in Redmond OR.
