Default 32 5 window with 471 supercharger

My 1932 5 window coupe has an 8ba flathead in it with a 39 trans and a Columbia 2 speed rear,my problem is I have acquired an OEM Navarro intake and conversion setup for the 8ba complete with 471 blower the problem is I want to run the hood on the car but there doesn't seem to be room for carbs on top of the blower what are my options and what is available ?

I'd guess some kind of a side-draft/mounted carb setup would work without too much fuss. Maybe mount a low profile intake box on the blower with provision for making rubber hose carb connections like on bikes. Fabricate your own box. Prolly better to ask for ideas/options on the HAMB.

Make a new hood top, with a hole in it.

I saw this yesterday and thought about Weber side draft. After checking the site (Inglese) I see no height benefit.

The 371 & 471 blowers are tall and the Navaro manifold with the pop off valves will not help that even if the unit is pruned down. You will either have to make a one piece hood top and use belts or Dzus fasteners to hold it on or you would have to go with a Weiand unit or other shorter blower set up.

I would be concerned with a 39 trans and Columbia rear end behind a blower motor.

Custom built manifold to move the carb(s) over to the side and down.

Barney had to put a blister on top of his one piece hood for his lakes track T car with the 371 on a destroked flatty. It protruded through the hood and the blister covered it up.

I'll look it up. It was tiny and wound up real tight. If memory serves, 7K? He also fooled around with oxygen injection and other tricks.

It was around 173 CID if I remember correctly but I don't know how tight he could pull it.
Barney tried numerous modification just like a lot of other folks tinkering with the flathead V8s. Less than some but more than most.

I looked on the H&H sight and it states that is was 176 CID so I was close but no cigar. Their info doesn't mention the RPM it could turn.

The photo is the cover of the April 1958 Car Craft, with Dave Archer's '32 sedan. Dave did not run hood sides to show off the 4-71 blower, but he did run the hood top on the car. I don't have this issue but it looks like he used a modified 4 barrel manifold and a thin carb adapter. The big issue would be no room for air cleaners
