Does anyone have a trick to repair 40 ford E brake tubes on backing plates.
Thanks Joe

Cut them out and weld in new ones. Cling's list them; but I usually just make my own out of tubing. https://www.clingsaftermarket.com/ad...od=26&subcat=4

I made my oun replacement tubes from some 1/2" steel tubing I had or found somewhere, and then brazed them in place on the backing plates. Once the rubber boots were in place, they looked like the real deal originals. Now someone is making/selling replacement tubes today, and I am thinking it's Bob Drake.
