If you have the '37 trans just measure the fork that goes in the synchro.

It shouldn't have, the improved synchro didn't become available until 1939 (or was it late 38?) but anyway, it was later than 1937.

Who knows what may have been swapped in, though. Do the check as above, or look at the shape of the synchro sleeve.

Mart.

A lot of parts in the 36 to 39 transmissions have the same part numbers as the later blocker type synchro transmission. A person needs Mac VP's book to check the part numbers to know which. The Canadian Ford organization followed along with the Dearborn organization in manufacturing pretty closely. There are exceptions but I don't think the late type synchronizer intro was one of them. The 1939 transmission even used the 78 case but it had the later 38 double detent shift tower with the 91A 2nd & high shift fork. This change likely came out at the same time on both sides of the Detroit river.

Early and late transmissions were both synchronized for 2nd & high gear but the blocker type syncho was an amazing improvement over the non blocker type.

whom knows you might have 21 zephyr gears. Think you need a 39 box. Thinking measuring the forks is a easy tell tale on later gear sets.
