anyone using aluminum radiators

for the price, they cant be beat, but they dont look very good...............


I used one in my 57 nomad. wroked great and only 120. delivered. but again, not the most attractive rad out there.

It’s hard to find one that fits. Some people have reported on a recent thread that the mounting tabs are not correct and they had to do some modifications.

Some of the Chinese companies that make them and/or market them don’t seem know the difference between the 28-29 and the 30-31 models.

My friend put one in his 30 coupe and likes it.I haven't seen it yet,he has just told me about it.He and I are used to making and fitting things,if he only had to work on it for a couple of hours to make it fit he would think nothing of it.I'm going to try one for myself.He said he painted the core black,he said it does look different,but he can't see it from the drivers seat.He loves the way it cools.I have two 96 Dodge trucks with Cummins engines,one is a plow/tow/work truck,the other is a dump.I used the $112.aluminum radiators in those.It's been years now with no problems.

Our experience with aluminum radiators....
We use the Wizard brand. Very happy with them.
Made in USA.
Be very cautious with cheapie imported ones online

I have used the Wizard ones in British cars,VERY nice.They were not doing A radiators though.Or,they weren't at the time I asked.They could have come up with one,but the price was far more than a new copper/brass one at the time.My friend loves his Chinese one,he tried it then bought two more for his other cars.I haven't seen it yet,he said it fills the hole in the shell,and cools great.

mine wasnt that nice. just scroll from lowest cost and it will pop up.


one on there now is 99. shipped. 125. gets a closer copy. rad cooled fine and wasnt expecting much.
on a clunker car, rarely pays to spend 600. for a rad.

Yes. This is the afternoon required work to fit one that was actually made for a chevy engine.

Removing the oil cooler gives space for the crank handle.
Edit : forgot to mention if the lower pipe is straight, you may need to bend it out a little as the fan belt will rub on it when it gets worn & the generator moves outwards
