Hello Bill, I am new to the site and was wondering if you could tell me a little on Hershey. When, how long, will it even be possible to get a room fairly close to the event, food, and when is it, how long does it last.
Thanks

I extend the invitation to HAMB and Ford Barn members to store parts at my swap meet spaces for the day. I'm right at the end of Main Street in the Chocolate Field C4J-41-42, Brookville is just behind me and the food vendor is across on the other corner. Daytime is for shopping NOT hauling parts back to your car only to see something you needed walk past you on your way back in. Bob

It's only about 15 minutes away but you can get pretty good room rates in Harrisburg. It's also close to the airport. Three cheers for Hershey!

Coming from the UK for our first Hershey, staying at Harrisburg. Can carts to drag parts around be rented, or should I borrow a Radio Flyer or some such? Really looking forward to it. Will be staying near Chicago and doing a road trip to include the Gilmore!

I haven't seen any carts for rent, but those fold out wire grocery carts with two wheels are pretty cheap. A backpack or shoulder bag can also come in handy.

In years past I try to find as many Radio Flyer wagons and two wheel carts and sell them for $20.00. BEST EVER are the 3 wheeled baby carriages, knock off the seat and harness and add a milk crate with bungiee coards and you are good to go. About ten years ago I bought a 13 1/2 foot long NOS Model T truck frame extention and attached one end to my two wheel hand truck, that was an easy push, but it was half the length of the Chocolate field. Sometimes there are kids with wagons that charge a couple of bucks to haul your stuff. Bring rain gear and comfortable shoes. The flea market is all on blacktop now, so it can be hard on your legs. I have been to every Hershey since 1968 and believe it or not I miss the ankle deep mud in the old fields!

Tip for First Timers: If you see an item you think you need/want BUY IT, it won't be there when you come back for it, IF you can find the spot again. Tip #2 make a note of the lamp post numbers neer a spot you hope to return to. Bob

years ago, when we had mud, you knew you were in trouble when you had to have the tractor pull you into your spot. Ron
