Default 1950 F3 Door window bottom rail

My door window has come loose from the bottom rail and that let's that rail bind up against the side rails. All of this needs to be rebuilt with new seals. But really don't have time for that now. I haven't tried pulling that bottom rail off but wondering if anyone has a temporary fix. Thinking of taking the bottom piece off clean it up and try to glue it to the window, maybeJB Weld? Is that too drastic? Not sure how it was held on originally.

I think you need glass setting tape to attach the window to the channel. It comes in different thicknesses to match with the thickness of your window and the thickness of your channel. I would not use JB Weld for that application.

Many places have it. Probably available to you locally from an auto parts store.
Bob Drake has different thicknesses of tape and it looks like you can get it from NAPA.

The track is shorter than the glass. Check the other side for comparison. You want to set the glass so it overhangs the track 1/4" on the front/leading edge.

I've used silicone caulk to set the glass, but glass setting tape is better.
