All that's needed now is the same dimension for the late '32 torque tube with the scalloped rear flange (given that the above is for the early torque tube).

Length of 1932 V8 torque tube
Length of 1933/1934 V8 torque tube
Length of 1933/1934 4 cylinder torque tube (if it's different than the V8)

Thanks in advance

If you'll note my earlier post, it shows the '33-'34 V8 torque tube to be 61-7/8". Even in Henry's book of allowable tolerances for how a torque tube fits-up, that's well-within a Royal red cunt hair's width of 62".

THIS thread has pretty-well and difinitively established the three BASIC lengths for the available torque tubes used on '32-'34 Ford automobiles of both flavors......V8 and 4-cyl. It should also be clear, and easily understood by anyone mechanically-inclined enough to understand how the TT bolts into these vehicles, that a variance in length of 1/16" to even 1/8" between different examples, will obviously still fit and function as originally designed by Ford folks. This has been a great thread, with some great input from several folks. DD

I mistakenly called my torque tube "late" because the car has a late serial number. Seems it must have hung around for a while in a crate in Dagenham!

I get .456" longer for the 40 housing.
I have the length figured out for the new shorter 32 torque tube. It would be 52.92" The difference in length of a 34 torque tube and a driveshaft is 1.68" If the same coupling dimensions are assumed, the new 32 driveshaft would be 51.24"
The dimension I would like to get is the distance from a 34 flange face to the pin hole in the pinion shaft. That would tell me if driveshaft dimension can be used or would need to be adjusted to get the hole in the right place.
Nice puzzle!

I made my driveshaft but I knew it was not right. I went yesterday and measured three rear ends to find the clearance between the speedo gear and the snap ring. The numbers were about 1/8" but I don't know if any debris was in the way. The number that was pretty consistant was from the bell lip to the back of the snap ring groove. I make it 2.44"
Corrections appreciated!

can somone add the corresponding 32 scallops flange driveshaft length that goes with the 53 5/16" torque tube dimension
