When I did the Mitchell on my 37 I was curious if the trans matched the frame numbers. I was surprised to find the pad on the front was blank. No numbers at all. I cleaned the pad and sanded but it is just a plain casting there. Replacement case?

after about 49 some of the pickup cases had no number on the tranny, yet it was still a 78 case.
