Put lots of mothballs and Irish spring soap in it.

I'm not fond of mothball & irish spring stink either. But admittedly more tolerable than rodent pee & turd stink. Jack E/NJ

I keep the blue blocks of rat/mouse poison in every shed on the farm. Of course they have to be inaccessible to pets. They keep the rats down to zero and mice thinned out considerably.

Get a Jack Russell Terrier and it will solve the problem . Way better than a cat. Mine has caught two rats, 2 squirrels and a possum. in the last two months.

I put a bar of Irish Spring in my truck and the meeces had a picnic on it. Over half the bar was eaten in a couple of weeks. I'll bet that washed out their digestive systems if nothing else.

You can make this same setup with a pop can on a 1/4" rod or coat hanger, and some peanut butter.

***Granted it's going to stink to high heaven if you don't dump it out in a coupe weeks.

Look up “Fresh Cab”.....It was And is designed tractor cabs...Really smells good in my car and haven’t seen a mouse in my motor home since I put it in .....

I like that idea. Very simple and effective.

In the video he mentions you don't have to use water if you want to release the mice later.

I'm not sure why you would want to release or relocate them

. Plus a mouse could easly jump out of a bucket without water.

Little antifreeze for the fall months.

The mice in Minnesota like to eat Irish Spring as well. I'm wasn't kidding about a cat. "TJ"s suggestion of a Jack Russel Terrier is kind of impractical. The are much more expensive than a cat and much higher maintenance. An old barn cat will just hang around and take care of business. Plus, the mice know when there's a cat around and make themselves scarce.

Home depot has a mint type sachet that is supposed to work like mothballs. At least it smells better.
