I have a NOS 1940 Ford standard hood nose piece 01A-8218A, with a 6-40 date cast in it. This part number does not exist in any original Ford parts book I have dated 1940 to 1949. For some reason this bothers me. Anyone got insight why this is? I tried to load picture with this question, but the system would not accept them for some reason.

01A-8218-A is listed in the Feb 1940 Chassis Parts Book.

My January 1946 parts book and the Green Bible did not list it. After I read the responses from other members I got in the attic and dug out a May 1941 dated parts book and the 01A-8218A is listed in that parts book. Thanks for the responses.
