No radiator drain cock on my 1936
Today, while servicing the cooling system on my 39 Cabriolet, I discovered that there is no drain cock on the bottom of the radiator. Looks like the drain cock was remover and the bottom tank was patched. Had to remove lower radiator hose to drain old coolant, reinstall it and add Prestone Cleaner/flush. Will have to do the same thing tomorrow in order to add fresh antifreeze. A royal pain of a job.
I was thinking that there may be some sort of a drain cock that would attach to the lower radiator hose similar to the way heater hose attaches to the radiator hose. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks, Joe |

You may have two block plugs, just behind the water pumps...might be work getting them out, but re-install petcocks in place of the plugs, I grabbed the advice here, as my '42 PU has no drains on the radiator either.

Re: No radiator drain cock on my 1936
Thanks Mike and Brendan, found the drain plugs you described. Sure is easier to drain radiator vs hose removal.
You guys saved me a lot of work. Joe |

Re: No radiator drain cock on my 1936
Thanks Mike. Block drain plugs turned easy. On my 36 it looks kind of tight to get petcocks in place of the plugs. May look better if I had the car up on a lift,
