Guys-Did the 38 Standard come from the factory with the Wheel (tire) Stainless trim rings? My 38 Standard has the smooth ones on it-but a lot of the pictures I see of 38 Standards the rings are missing.

Trim rings were not factory installed on 38 standards. You could purchase them as an accessory from the dealer. I like the look with trim rings and will run a set on my coupe.

Mac's catalogue has a nice grill identification page(s) for all Flatheads.

I know this is not '38 Ford specific, but when I think of all the Fords build in the 30's, I'm reminded of the old saying, "There's no such thing as an ugly puppy!!"

I agree.I don't think there was ever a really ugly flathead. Many many years a go as a teenager I had a 38 std coupe and wasn't interested in sedans but have wound up with a '38 std 4 door sedan which is a very loyal old driver.Like an old dog, if they hang around long enough you sort of get attached to them.Geoff

I too am a fan of '38 Standard coupes. The look just appeals to me.
